UTgel-83 is an organically modified bentonite, mainly used as a viscosifier for oil-based drilling fluids.
UTgel-83 can improve the stability of oil-based drilling fluid systems and provide desirable rheological properties, helping enhance the hole cleaning and cuttings carrying capacity of drilling fluids.
UTgel-83 features strong viscosity and gel strength increasing capacity with a certain fluid loss reduction effect. Good rheological performance can be achieved with a low dosage, and its temperature resistance can reach up to 177℃ (350℉).
