Product Code: Supergel
Packing: 25 kg/bag

SUPERGEL is an organically modified bentonite for very-high-temperature applications. Its working temperature is 40°C up to 200°C (104°F up to 392°F). It acts as a gelling and viscosifying agent for oil-base and synthetic-base drilling fluids, and effectively improves the stability of invert emulsion systems, and provides necessary rheological performance, and reduces fluid loss of the drilling fluids, and helps to improve the ability of the drilling fluids to clean the wellbore and carry drill solids. It is designed as a very-high-temperature organoclay, and can work up to 200°C (392°F) without losing its effectiveness, provided the emusifiers and wetting agnet and filtrate controller in the emulsion system can all tolerate such high temperature. SUPERGEL is added by 1.5 to 3.0 wt% in the emulsion, depending on the oil/water ratio of the emulsion.
SUPERGEL is made from bentonite treated by quaternary amine salt, through cation exchange reaction. Under normal operation conditions, it will not have adverse effects on the operators’ health and the environment. Concerning the health effects, environmental protection measures and operators protections, please refer to its MSDS prior to operations and applications.
