GD18 - Plus is an acrylic based, polymer-type thinner. In its molecular chains, there are several functional side groups serving for thinning-ability generation, high-temperature tolerance, salt and calcium resistance. This gives GD18 Plus excellent thinning performance in a wide variety of water-base mud.
GD18 - Plus is an excellent thinner in freshwater mud, salt water mud, seawater mud, gypsum-added mud and barite-weighted mud. To achieve the same thinning effect, dosage of GD18 Plus in the drilling mud is much smaller than lignin-based and tannin-based thinners. The recommended dosage of GD18 Plus is 0.1 to 0.3 wt%, or 0.35 to 1.05ppb.
